Making it to grid this weekend came right down to the wire, with the installation of a new Hindle exhaust system from Woodcraft throwing a huge wrench in the plans due to a seized header bolt in Bryan’s SV. Thankfully our Team Coming In Hot teammate Terry Wilkinson was able to help get things sorted the day before the races and we were off. Bryan attended this event solo, due to Tyne’ having other commitments she needed to attend to back home.
Saturday’s racing, with only Lightweight Supersport on the docket for the day, ended up being a bit of a bust. A last lap crash in the preceding race caused racers to be held on grid for a full 10 minutes. Lightning and heavy rain started during the sighting lap, causing the race to be delayed and riders sent in from the grid. Having no rain tires with him, and a soaking wet track with stone cold race tires, Bryan decided to call it a day.
Sunday’s weather proved to be spotty through the day with alternating dry and wet conditions through the morning. Patience was rewarded with beautiful conditions in the afternoon for the Lightweight Superbike race, where Bryan brought it home in 11th place.
Massive shout-out to Terry Wilkinson both for his expert header bolt extraction skills, as well as for housing Bryan and his bike for the weekend due to our trailer currently being inoperable.
Huge thanks to all our 2017 sponsors — none of this would be possible without them!
