After a day of coaching MotoVid.com’s Sport Riding 101 clinic on Friday, it was time for the “home opener” of sorts for the CCS Mid-West region at Blackhawk Farms. Saturday’s weather for the practice day was far from ideal, raining and cool most of the day. The afternoon cleared up and was absolutely gorgeous for the ASRA Team Challenge event. Bryan was on pit crew duty for our Team Coming In Hot teammates, with Jared Herbig & Ray Hofman on the TCIH bike and Jeremy Sparks & Steve Esch on the Moist Leathers bike. The riders did not disappoint, putting both bikes on the box with a 1-2 finish in the GTL class. TCIH is making a bid for the national title this year, and another win this round puts the team in a commanding lead over the GTL field.
Sunday’s weather conditions were not any better than Saturday morning. Despite having brought rain tires along for the ride, the rapidly varying conditions through the day coupled with a few bike issues he was still sorting out on the SV meant Bryan’s confidence and desire to go race shot through the floor. Since chasing a title is not in the plan for this season, rather than risk wadding up the bike he had just finished putting back together he opted to pack it up and spent another day supporting our Coming In Hot teammates.
Next up is the long trip to Brainerd, MN for the joint round with CRA next month. We’ll see you all there!
Huge thanks as ever to all who support our racing efforts — this would be absolutely impossible without you!
